2018 NHSSCA Cruise and Conference

The NHSSCA Founding Members are excited to announce an opportunity for high school strength and conditioning coaches to celebrate #Family and continue to grow as professionals unlike any event before.

The 2018 NHSSCA Cruise and Conference – January 25-28, 2018 (To reserve one of the limited spots available you must register and place a deposit by Oct 2nd – details below)

Yes, you heard that right! We are taking our amazing Conference Experience on the high seas as we travel to the Bahamas on Carnival Cruise Line. We know this is short notice but we did not want to wait till next year and wanted to lead the way in giving unique experiences to our members! After the Fall semester has ended, football season is completed, the holiday rush has subsided and we start planning for Spring and Summer 2018, we wanted to offer a special opportunity to connect. The NHSSCA Conference Season will begin in February 2018 and culminate with our amazing National Conference in June 2018. Therefore, late January offers a unique time to celebrate all that is #FAMILY. A combination of cruise and conference allows for 10 HOURS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT focused on high school strength and conditioning in an environment that is prime for connection. We have worked hard to get a rate that would allow coaches to bring a loved one, friend, family member or additional staff with them instead of leaving them at home! After learning together each day, we all can continue to connect with new friends and family as we head out to sunny Bahamas on board the Carnival Liberty!

The NHSSCA Founding Members and Carnival Cruise Line have put together this fantastic opportunity that includes OVER 10 HOURS of presentations featuring Kevin Vanderbush (Head Strength Coach, Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis, IN), Fred Eaves (Athletic Director & Director of Wellness, Battle Ground Academy, Nashville, TN), Gary Schofield Jr. (Head Strength & Conditioning Coach, Greater Atlanta Christian School, Atlanta, GA) and Rich Gray (Executive Director, NHSSCA & former Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Westminster HS and St Pius High School, Atlanta, GA). But this event is MORE than just a conference! We will celebrate #FAMILY on the Carnival Liberty Cruise Ship as we sail to the Bahamas! All day long, Carnival Liberty can be found serving up signature burgers designed by Guy Fieri, right there at Guy’s Burger Joint — and look! — just over there is SkyBox Sports Bar: a double-header of a sports bar that brings together live sports on TV and lively sports-gaming competition… oh, not to mention great drinks! Enjoy BlueIguana Cantina tacos and burritos on Lido deck — made fresh, and fast, while you wait — plus two great bars: one rum-slinging, one tequila-wielding, both dueling for your heart. That’s right: just a quick stroll from RedFrog Rum Bar you’ll find BlueIguana Tequila Bar.

On the entertainment side of things, Carnival Liberty features two of our best, live on stage. First there’s Playlist Productions, where pros sing and dance their hearts out, performing high-energy themed revues of tunes you know, backed by amazing visual effects. Then there’s Hasbro, The Game Show, where you might get the chance to come on down, get up on stage and compete in larger-than-life versions of your family-favorite Hasbro games… each with a unique twist. Kids have three unique youth spaces where they can hang out with others their age and enjoy supervised activities, games and more.
