The NHSSCA Founding Members are excited to announce another opportunity for high school strength and conditioning coaches to celebrate #FAMILY and continue to grow as professionals unlike any other professional growth event…
The 2019 NHSSCA Conference and Cruise – January 17-21, 2019
Yes, you heard that right! We are taking our amazing Conference Experience on the high seas again as we travel to Cozumel on Royal Carribean Cruise Lines for a 4-Day Cruise that returns on a Monday Holiday to reduce need for time off! THIS EVENT WILL BE LIMITED AS WE HAVE RESERVED A SMALL BLOCK OF ROOMS TO MAKE THIS A TRUE EXPERIENCE! It is our goal to maximize professional development in an environment that promotes connection and authentic relationships. This is where true learning occurs and relationships that will continue well past this event.
So, After the Fall Semester has ended, football season is completed, the holiday rush has subsided and we start planning for Spring and Summer 2019, we wanted to offer a special opportunity to connect. The NHSSCA Conference Season will begin in February 2019 and culminate with our amazing National Conference in Nashville in late June 2019. Therefore, late January offers a unique time to celebrate all that is #FAMILY. A combination of cruise and conference allows for 10 HOURS OF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT focused on high school strength and conditioning in an environment that is prime for connection. We have worked hard to get a rate that would allow coaches to bring a loved one, friend, family member or additional staff with them instead of leaving them at home! After learning together each day, we all can continue to connect with new friends and family as we head out to sunny Mexico on board the Brilliance of the Seas! That is what #FAMILY is all about. It is not just a hashtag but a driving force behind the NHSSCA.
The NHSSCA Founding Members and Royal Caribbean have put together this fantastic opportunity that includes OVER 10 HOURS of presentations featuring Kevin Vanderbush (NHSSCA Board Chair and Head Strength Coach ,Ben Davis High School, Indianapolis, IN), Fred Eaves (Athletic Director, Battle Ground Academy, Nashville, TN), Gary Schofield Jr. (NHSSCA Co-Founder & former Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at GACS for 20 years) and Rich Gray (Executive Director, NHSSCA & former Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Westminster HS and St Pius High School, Atlanta, GA). Adding to the speakers this year will be 2018 NHSSCA National Coach of the Year Tobias Jacobi (Strong Rock Christian, GA), NHSSCA Board Member Ryan Johnson (Wayzata High School, MN) and NHSSCA Board Vice Chair Brian Clarke (Noblesville High School, IN). BUT THERE IS MORE!!!! In 2019, we will have a very special keynote speaker joining us as well!!!! Each attendee will have access to special meetings, breakout sessions, handouts, videos and NHSSCA gear!
But this event is MORE than just a conference! We will celebrate #FAMILY on the Royal Caribbean Brilliance of the Seas as we sail to the Cozumel! The Brilliance of the Seas is the ultimate escape for a winter Western Caribbean sailing out of Tampa, Florida. Catch a dive in movie on the poolside screen, retreat to the adults-only Solarium for a little down time, rise to the occasion and take on the signature Rock Climbing Wall, hit the links at our mini-golf course overlooking a sea of blue or head to the Schooner Bar for cocktails and piano sing-a-longs.
From sweet treats and a pick me up at Cafe Latte-tudes to the ultimate VIP meal at the Chef’s Table, there are endless taste bud tempting options onboard. Sample a seemingly endless selection of Italian classics at Giovanni’s Table or indulge in prime cuts, Maine lobster and more at the signature steakhouse!
Dont forget the entertainment! Center Stage brings incredible talent to the main stage ranging from Jazz to Rock to Swing! Comedy Shows and special events happen all day, every day!
Remember we will spend a day in Cozumel, Mexico. Cozumel blends Mexican culture with Caribbean vibes. Explore Mayan roots in Tulum, discover secret worlds as you snorkel in Chankanaab or relax with an ice cold michelada and a beachside massage at Playa Mia!
