How much time do you spend strengthening the mental side of your students? A conditioned mind will not only help student-athletes strengthen their bodies but also help them struggle with the adverse events of life that no one is exempt from. Come learn how to address the mental wellness of your athletes so that they are prepared for not only the sports they do now but also the longer game of life. 10:30 am-11:30 pm – DUAL: LECTURE+HANDS-ONSpeed Development in a Large Group Setting by Shane King OVERVIEW: The ability to have proper speed and agility training for athletes in a high school strength and conditioning class setting is often affected by the time available and class size. The presented system will help show how it is possible for a high school coach who wants to develop speed and change of direction skills in a strength and conditioning class setting to do so with as many as 80 athletes in a gym at once. 11:50-12:35 pm – DUAL: LECTURE+HANDS-ONActive Recovery and Mobility in Sport Performance by Kevin Pillifant OVERVIEW: Kevin Pillifant will demonstrate research-based active recovery methods and mobility techniques/exercises that aid in sports performance. He will also discuss the importance of developing mobility in any population that you might work with. This presentation will give the attendees practical techniques to return to their situation and implement with their athletes. These methods can be implemented with all athletes that you might train. 12:45-1:15 pm – LUNCH PROVIDED 1:20-2:20 pm – DUAL: LECTURE+HANDS-ONMaximizing Athletic Performance: Transformative Strategies from High School to College by Candice Walls OVERVIEW: Coach Walls brings a ton of experience from the college ranks\, where she was most recently the Assistant Director of Athletics for Athletic Performance at the University of Louisiana. She is currently at Mullen High School as the Director of Sports Performance. In less than 4 years\, she has built a solid Sports Performance Program\, including 3 Assistants\, Interns\, and a Sports Performance Recovery Specialist. How much time do you spend strengthening the mental side of your students? A conditioned mind will not only help student-athletes strengthen their bodies but also help them struggle with the adverse events of life that no one is exempt from. Come learn how to address the mental wellness of your athletes so that they are prepared for not only the sports they do now but also the longer game of life. 10:30 am-11:30 pm – DUAL: LECTURE+HANDS-ONSpeed Development in a Large Group Setting by Shane King OVERVIEW: The ability to have proper speed and agility training for athletes in a high school strength and conditioning class setting is often affected by the time available and class size. The presented system will help show how it is possible for a high school coach who wants to develop speed and change of direction skills in a strength and conditioning class setting to do so with as many as 80 athletes in a gym at once. 11:50-12:35 pm – DUAL: LECTURE+HANDS-ONActive Recovery and Mobility in Sport Performance by Kevin Pillifant OVERVIEW: Kevin Pillifant will demonstrate research-based active recovery methods and mobility techniques/exercises that aid in sports performance. He will also discuss the importance of developing mobility in any population that you might work with. This presentation will give the attendees practical techniques to return to their situation and implement with their athletes. These methods can be implemented with all athletes that you might train. 12:45-1:15 pm – LUNCH PROVIDED 1:20-2:20 pm – DUAL: LECTURE+HANDS-ONMaximizing Athletic Performance: Transformative Strategies from High School to College by Candice Walls OVERVIEW: Coach Walls brings a ton of experience from the college ranks\, where she was most recently the Assistant Director of Athletics for Athletic Performance at the University of Louisiana. She is currently at Mullen High School as the Director of Sports Performance. In less than 4 years\, she has built a solid Sports Performance Program\, including 3 Assistants\, Interns\, and a Sports Performance Recovery Specialist.
