Driven by a lifelong passion for the mechanics of athleticism\, Villani pursued an advanced education that culminated in a Master’s in Exercise Physiology. His groundbreaking thesis on the advantages of exhaustive internal training garnered attention from premier sports organizations\, ranging from the Washington Capitals to the Orlando Magic. His expertise in performance enhancement also led NFL Hall of Famer Chris Carter to appoint him as the Director of Performance for the esteemed FAST program. \nRecognizing that data-driven speed training was the linchpin to unlocking athletes’ full potential\, Villani was determined to democratize access to elite speed training techniques\, making them available across all seasons\, sports\, and training environments. In 2002\, this vision gave birth to XPE Sports\, a venture dedicated to refining speed mechanics through innovative methodology. \nVillani’s dissatisfaction with conventional training equipment\, which he found to impede speed maintenance and momentum\, inspired the creation of the SHREDmill. This self-propelled treadmill\, designed to emphasize proper form\, quickly became a staple in the training regimens of professional athletes and coaches at both the high school and collegiate levels. \nUnder Villani’s guidance\, XPE Sports has devised specialized performance plans that have propelled athletes to the zenith of their careers\, including first-round selections in the NFL\, MLB\, and NBA drafts. Villani’s commitment to excellence has not only revolutionized the approach to speed training but has also paved the way for athletes to achieve unparalleled success in their respective fields. \nPresentation Overview: \n9:00-10:00 am CSTSpeed Training – Make it Simple \n\n40 minutes presentation\n20 minutes Q&A\n\n10:00-11:00 am CSTBelieve? Their value holds substantial merit among physical therapists\, athletic trainers\, and personal trainers. The problem is what these movement screens teach proves challenging in a group or team setting. The essential information is there\, but it must be honed\, manipulated\, and presented in a way that allows strength coaches to take immediate control. Moreover\, traditional movement screens and corrective exercise routines want the strength coach to stop doing their athlete’s lifting and “getting stronger” work to do their “pre-hab” system instead. As a strength coach\, I know that strength conquers a heck of a lot\, and you can NOT cut that out of your program\, or you don’t have a program. The DWMA is a strength coach’s movement screen. It is a performance system that lets you conquer group screening and succinctly apply corrective exercises without sacrificing the athlete’s training. In the DWMA lecture/hands-on sessions\, coaches will learn how to make their existing dynamic warm-up a movement screen using the DWMA as a backdrop. Next\, coaches will learn to implement corrective exercises into their regular training program as active rest between working sets without impacting training time. \nSession D: Location – Practice Gym \nHow to Build an Assessment System\nRich Burnett\, MS\, SCCC\, CSCS\nPresident of Training Operations\, Triple F Sports Training (TN)\nIn this hands-on presentation. Most of the session will be time spentbuilding out custom reporting via Google Sheets. Please come prepared with a laptop to fully engage in the session and walk away with your own robust assessment system! \n7:20-8:10 pm CST\nLecture Series\nMain Location – Fieldhouse \nThe Value of The Basics\nJoe Kenn\, CSCS*D\, SCCC\, MSCC\, RSCC*E\nVice President of Performance Education at Dynamic Fitness and Strength \nJoe Kenn is a highly experienced coach with over 30 years of expertise in coaching on various levels\, including private\, high school\, college\, and professional sports. Their value holds substantial merit among physical therapists\, athletic trainers\, and personal trainers. The problem is what these movement screens teach proves challenging in a group or team setting. The essential information is there\, but it must be honed\, manipulated\, and pre- sented in a way that allows strength coaches to take immediate control. Moreover\, traditional movement screens and corrective exercise routines want the strength coach to stop doing their athlete’s lifting and “getting stronger” work to do their “prehab” system instead. As a strength coach\, I know that strength conquers a heck of a lot\, and you can NOT cut that out of your pro- gram\, or you don’t have a program. The DWMA is a strength coach’s movement screen. It is a \nperformance system that lets you conquer group screening and succinctly apply corrective ex- ercises without sacrificing the athlete’s training. In the DWMA lecture/hands-on sessions\, coaches will learn how to make their existing dynamic warm-up a movement screen using the DWMA as a backdrop. Next\, coaches will learn to implement corrective exercises into their reg- ular training program as active rest between working sets without impacting training time. \nSession D\nLocation – Practice Gym \nHow to Build an Assessment System\nRich Burnett\, MS\, SCCC\, CSCS\nPresident of Training Operations\, Triple F Sports Training (TN)\nIn this hands-on presentation. Most of the session will be time spentbuilding out custom reporting via Google Sheets. Please come prepared with a laptop to fully engage in the session and walk away with your own robust assessment system. \n3:20-4:10 pm CST\nLecture Series\nMain Location – Fieldhouse \nBeyond Sets and Reps: Training High School Student-Athletes\nJohn Beerbower\, EdD\nDirector of Strength and Conditioning\, McHenry Community High School (IL)\nStrength and conditioning professionals have tremendous opportunities to make a difference in the lives of young people. The essential things in a weight room have very little to do with the weights! Success requires a relational focus and a central understanding of how a program fits the larger picture. This session will focus on best practices and principles for helping a teacher-coach connect within their school culture and achieve outcomes beyond the physical fitness aspects of student success. Attendees will be provided strategies for promoting student wellness\, understanding social-emotional learning\, building a positive culture\, and alignment with the classroom.
