The 5-Year Training Plan: 8th-12th Grade by Derek Cullison
OVERVIEW: This presentation will discuss what a structured five-year training plan looks like from 8th grade through 12th grade. It focuses on long-term athletic development, building proper movement patterns, strength, speed, and resilience over time. The plan emphasizes age-appropriate progression, consistency, and injury prevention while gradually increasing training demands. By following a clear developmental pathway, athletes can maximize performance, stay healthy, and be physically prepared for the demands of high school sports and beyond. After this discussion you will be able to implement this in your school system.
12:00-1:00 pm – HANDS-ON (NO SLIDES)
Regenerative Training and Recovery Techniques by Adam Vogel
OVERVIEW: Coach Adam Vogel joins us for this hands-on session that explores post-game regenerative strategies designed to restore elite performance after competition. Attendees will examine the practical application of active recovery methods alongside passive techniques and modalities. The presentation focuses on promoting tissue repair and enhancing parasympathetic recovery to mitigate in-season injuries. By implementing these regenerative protocols, coaches can ensure athletes return fully prepared for the training week, ultimately improving long-term durability and on-field performance throughout the competitive season.

In-season Speed Development and Hamstring Health by Mike Snyder
OVERVIEW: This presentation outlines Trinity High School’s year-round approach to speed development within the football program, with a specific emphasis on in-season implementation and hamstring health. Coach Snyder will break down how consistent, intentional speed exposure throughout the calendar has led to improved on-field performance while reducing hamstring and soft-tissue injuries during the competitive season.
Attendees will gain insight into:
- How speed can be trained during the season without overloading athletes
- Why maintaining speed qualities is critical for both performance and injury resilience
- How Trinity integrates speed work seamlessly into the weekly practice schedule
- Simple progressions and guardrails that protect hamstrings while keeping athletes fast
The goal of this session is for coaches to leave confident in how easy and realistic it is to implement an effective in-season speed strategy—one that supports durability, availability, and performance when it matters most on Friday nights.
