365 Strong. Annual Periodization for Peak Performance by Jimmie Bunting

OVERVIEW: In this presentation, Coach Bunting outlines a year-long training framework designed to develop athletes who are strong, resilient, and prepared to perform at their best when it matters most. This presentation explains how to strategically organize training phases across an entire year to balance strength, speed, power, conditioning, and recovery. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of how intentional planning, progressive overload, and well-timed deloads create sustainable performance, reduce injury risk, and ensure athletes are building—not burning out—every day of the year.

8:00-8:30 am #FAMILY BREAKFAST
Start the Day Together

Breakfast isn’t just about fueling up for the day—it’s about continuing the conversations that started the night before. This informal gathering gives coaches another opportunity to connect, reflect, and build relationships before the clinic resumes.

Grab a plate, sit with someone new, and keep the dialogue going. The strongest ideas, collaborations, and mentorships often happen in moments like these—unplanned, unscripted, and shared over a meal. The NHSSCA #FAMILY doesn’t stop when the sessions end, and breakfast is proof of that.

Start the day connected. #NHSSCA #FAMILY

8:30-9:30 am – LECTURE
Dog Prep: How We Turn Warm-Ups Into Weapons & Whiteboards into Buy-In by Tyler Franklin

OVERVIEW: In this presentation, Coach Franklin explores how intentional preparation sets the tone for elite performance long before the first working set. This presentation breaks down how dynamic warm-ups become performance tools that drive readiness, intensity, and injury resilience—while clear, purposeful whiteboard communication builds athlete understanding, trust, and effort. Attendees will learn how to use preparation and messaging to create urgency, accountability, and culture, turning everyday routines into competitive advantages.

9:45-10:45 pm – LECTURE
Closing The Gap: Injury Prevention, Rehab, and the Power of ATC-S&C Collaboration by Kyle Southall

OVERVIEW: In this presentation, Coach Southall highlights how seamless communication and shared planning between Athletic Trainers and Strength & Conditioning coaches create healthier, more resilient athletes. This presentation explores strategies to align injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance training so athletes transition smoothly from the training room back to full competition. Attendees will learn how collaboration, consistent language, and unified progressions reduce setbacks, accelerate return-to-play, and ensure performance never stops at rehab—it evolves.

11:30 am-12:30 pm – LECTURE
The Universal Athlete: Mastering the Trifecta of Strength, Speed, and Capacity by Michelle Diltz

OVERVIEW: In today’s performance landscape, specialization often overshadows preparation. But championship performance isn’t built on isolated qualities — it’s built on integration.

In The Universal Athlete, Michelle Diltz challenges coaches to rethink sport preparation through the lens of three foundational pillars: Strength, Speed, and Capacity. Rather than programming for a single sport or season, this session emphasizes developing adaptable, resilient athletes prepared for the physical demands of victory across environments.

Drawing on her experience overseeing Olympic Sports performance at The University of Alabama, Michelle will outline how to develop athletes who can generate force, express it rapidly, and sustain it repeatedly — without compromising durability. Coaches will leave with a clear framework for evaluating whether their current training truly develops complete athletes or simply improves isolated metrics.

This presentation bridges theory and application, offering practical strategies for integrating the trifecta into real-world programming — from high school weight rooms to collegiate performance environments.
