More Than A Contraction Type, presented by Brandon Davis
OVERVIEW: Most training methodologies focus on and manipulate the concentric portion of the lift. This not only leaves stimuli on the table, but also leads to having more time to pick the “high-hanging fruit.” In this presentation, Brandon will go beyond tempos and time under tension to discuss what athletic KPI’s you can target with various types of eccentric emphasis’.
11:00-11:50 am – HANDS-ON
The Cheat Code: Lessons I’ve Learned To Gain Buy-In & Support For Your Strength & Conditioning Program by Micah Kurtz.
OVERVIEW: Being a strength & conditioning coach is one of the most rewarding careers a person can have. Despite all the benefits we get as strength coaches, many coaches still have many issues. These issues range from sports coaches not trusting their strength coach and wanting to run their own strength program, parents of athletes not believing in the strength coach and wanting to tell them how best to do their job, student-athletes not wanting to train at their school, believing that more is better and wanting personal training from a private sector coach. In this presentation, I will outline ideas and principles I have used not to have to face these common issues as regularly and gain buy-in from your athletes, parents of athletes, and community.
12:00-12:50 am – HANDS-ON
