Professional Development Scholarships

The NHSSCA will award 2 Professional Development Scholarships. One scholarship will be awarded to a current college student planning to enter the field of high school strength and conditioning, and the other will be awarded to a current high school strength and conditioning coach who is new in the field. Scholarship winners will receive free registration to the NHSSCA National Conference and also $500 toward hotel and travel expenses. Please see the descriptions and requirements listed below. Details of the winnings may change if NATCON is a virtual event.

The Process

College Student Strength Coach Scholarship

  • Candidates must be a current NHSSCA Student Member who is currently a senior in college.
  • Candidates must plan to become a high school strength and conditioning coach after graduation.
  • Submit your nominations by clicking and filling out the form below:

    COLLEGE STUDENT STRENGTH COACH SCHOLARSHIP 

  • Only NHSSCA Student candidates may self nominate COLLEGE STUDENT FORM 
  • The nomination period is February 1 – April 1.
  • Candidates must submit a letter detailing why they want to attend the National Conference and how they would benefit from the experience. 
  • Candidates must submit a copy of their college transcript
  • Candidates must submit 2 letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a college professor at the college they attend. The other letter may be from a person of their choosing. 
  • Candidates must submit a copy of their resume, which should include details about their internship experience or observational experience at the high school level.

New High School Strength Coach Scholarship

  • Candidates must be a current NHSSCA Professional Member who has graduated college within the last 3 years.
  • Candidates must be a high school strength and conditioning coach for less than 3 years.
  • Submit your nominations by clicking and filling out the form below:

    NEW HIGH SCHOOL STRENGTH COACH SCHOLARSHIP​
  • NHSSCA Professional Members may self nominate HIGH SCHOOL COACH FORM
  • The nomination period is February 1 – April 1
  • Candidates must submit a letter detailing how attending the National Conference would aid in their professional development as a high school strength and conditioning coach.
  • Candidates must submit a copy of their resume
  • Candidates must submit 2 letters of recommendation, one of which must be from a coach or administrator at the high school where they work. The other letter must be from an NHSSCA member.
