This annual scholarship was created to honor the life and strength of Griffin Scott Pherson. It will be granted at the NHSSCA National Conference and awarded to a high school strength coach who best exemplifies what it means to be trustworthy, knowledgeable, effective, passionate, and transformational.
Candidates must be current NHSSCA members and can be nominated by any current NHSSCA member in good standing. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year serving as a full-time faculty member in the role of strength and conditioning coach (private or public high school).
The winner of this year’s scholarship is Taylor Moon, Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Minnetonka High School in Minnesota. Coach Moon, who has served in this role since 2021, also teaches Special Education, working with students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities.
