Building an Injury-Proof Athlete by Frank Cremonese
OVERVIEW: In today’s demanding sports environment, athletes must balance academics, AAU commitments, training sessions, and high school teams. Ensuring they stay healthy and on the field is vital not only for their personal success but also for the overall success of their teams. This presentation will explore essential strategies to maintain athlete health and performance across all sports, from aquatics to wrestling. Attendees will also participate in hands-on practice and discussions to effectively integrate these strategies into their own training sessions and practices.
10:00-10:50 am – LECTURE
The Forgotten Component by Mike Kunes
OVERVIEW: Using open and closed games to improve athlete reaction time and decision making skills. Starting from the most basic and progressing into layered and increasingly complex games. Athletes in any sport can improve their ability to react to multiple forms of stimuli. In this hands on presentation we will explore fun ways for athletes to work on this reaction skill by playing games and competing with each other. Knowing when and how to progress the drills is also an important key for coaches that we will explore.
11:05-12:00 pm – ROUNDTABLE
12:05-12:10 am – CLOSING REMARKS

Who's Attending
20 people are attending 2024 Pennsylvania Family Day
2024 NHSSCA Pennsylvania Family Day
Family Days are free 3-hour mini-clinics that include a lecture portion, hands-on session, and end with a coach's roundtable. These are a great opportunity to connect with other coaches, teachers, admins, and other members, and they also allow non-members to experience why #Family is more than just a hashtag.
